Summer Tips on
Watering your Lawn

Watering

Watering is critical to the care of your lawn. With the continued shortage of water, and more and more areas becoming drought prone, it’s important to water your lawn deep and infrequently. Once the weather starts to turn warmer and the grass is growing, you’ll need to make sure you water your lawn several times a week. Long intervals of watering help grass develop deep, strong roots which will help with increased drought tolerance. Shallow and frequent watering (such as daily watering) leads to shallow roots and a weaker lawn. Two deep watering days per week is far better than watering daily.

Times to Water

The best time of day to water your lawn is early morning or mid-evening. Always try to water before the heat of the day. When watering in the heat of the day, the water will be lost to evaporation.
